* Jewelry Photography

I rely on my photography to tell the story of my jewelry. Extreme close ups show off the tiny treasures I attach to each piece. You might be shocked to learn I’ve used my iPhone 4 to shoot 90% of my pics. Maybe you won’t be.

For me it was all about convenience. I could shoot the pic & immediatley upload it to facebook.

When my website came along last September I would email myself the photo, open the email, save it to a folder, open photo editing software, edit the picture, save it to a file, open my website, find the photo & attach it.

Last week my husband Scott gave me an Apple laptop for my birthday & I’m in photo saving heaven. I was able to create a 40 picture slideshow for the event I worked last week @ CoCo Milano’s. I do love technology.

I’m still using my iPhone for photography but now thru icloud I can easily transfer the pics. I take a picture & it automatically bounces to the heavens & then lands in my laptop photo catalogue waiting to be edited. Sweet!! Such a time saver.

I took these pictures last week while working @ JAM. The larder/pantry has so many great textures to choose from. You should go see all the cool things for sale there. The green backdrop is the backside of a vintage hand mirror. I’m getting better at realizing what colors look best with what backgrounds.

Can you feel me smiling? I’m a happy girl.

About Ruby Mae Jewelry

I'm Leah Williams and I adore fabulous buttons and brooches, chains and charms. I find it exciting to look into old tin cans passed down through the generations. They hold buttons and hardware removed from all types of garments. I reuse old buttons and it connects me to men and women that I'll never get to meet. I leave the original thread on a button. I'm inspired to create something new from something that was forgotten. I love, love, love it.
